International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2013.47056
Abstract: We hereby present a case of anaemia in a 73 years old patient with known past medical history of diffuse systemic scleroderma, who presented with acute onset of dizziness and haemetemesis. Blood tests revealed sudden drop of haemoglobin and an urgent gastroscopy revealed gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE) or watermelon stomach. GAVE is a rare but well recognised cause of acute bleeding in systemic scleroderma patients and should be kept as a differential diagnosis in the work up of anaemia in these patients.

Abstract: A new proprietary herbomineral formulation was formulated, consisting of herbal root extract ashwagandha and minerals (zinc, magnesium, and selenium). The objective of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory effect of the Biofield Energy Healing (The Trivedi Effect?) Treatment on the test herbomineral formulation in male Sprague Dawley rats. The test formulation was divided into two parts; one was represented as control, while the other part was treated with the Biofield Energy Healing Treatment by eighteen renowned Biofield Energy Healers and defined as the Biofield Energy Treated formulation. Besides, one group of animals was also received Biofield Energy Treatment by same Biofield Energy Healers under similar conditions. The effect of the test formulation was monitored by an estimation of humoral immune response, delay type hypersensitivity, hematology, biochemistry, body weight, feed intake, relative organ weight, and histopathology in male Sprague Dawley rats. The primary antibody titre level was significantly increased by 36.36% in the Biofield Energy Treated formulation (G3); while decreased by 15.09% in the untreated test formulation (G4) compared to the disease control group (G2). The paw volume was significantly increased by 75% in the Biofield Energy Treated group per se at day -15 (G6) compared to the disease control. The level of red blood corpuscle (RBC) was significantly increased by 14.45% in the G6 group compared to the G2 group. The platelet count was significantly increased by 10.32% in the G3 group; while it was decreased by 5.71% in the G4 group compared with the G2 group. There was a significant elevation of serum phosphorus by 6.04% in the G3 group compared to the G2 group. The concentration of magnesium in serum was increased by 13.00% in the Biofield Energy Treated formulation (G3) compared to the disease control group (G2). The concentration of uric acid was significantly decreased by 8.05% in the Biofield Energy Treated formulation (G3) compared to the G2 group. Further, the change in body weight, feed consumption, organ to body weight ratio data, and histopathology examination did not suggest any statistical difference, which depicts that the Biofield Energy Treated test formulation was found to be safe. These data suggest that the Biofield Treated test formulation can be used for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, Atherosclerosis, Dermatitis, Diverticulitis, Diabetes, etc. along with stress prevention and management and anti-aging by improving overall health.

Abstract: The use of an herbomineral formulation in the healthcare sector for different chronic diseases is gaining popularity due to its fewer side-effects, high safety profile, and cost effectiveness. A new proprietary herbomineral formulation was formulated, consisting of four essential ingredients viz. herbal (ashwagandha root extract) and minerals (zinc chloride, magnesium gluconate, and sodium selenate). The objective of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory effect of the Biofield Energy Treated test formulation on female Sprague Dawley (SD) rats. The test formulation was divided into two parts; one was represented as control, while the other part was treated with the Biofield Energy Healing Treatment remotely by renowned Biofield Energy Healers (The Trivedi Effect) and defined as the Biofield Energy Treated formulation. The effect of the test formulation was monitored using humoral immune response, delayed type hypersensitivity, hematology, biochemistry, relative organ weight, and histopathology. The primary hemagglutination (HA) antibody titre level was significantly (p≤0.05) increased by 185.88% in the Biofield Energy Treated group (G3); while 41.18% increased in the untreated test formulation group (G4) as compared to the disease control group (G2). The secondary HA titre was significantly increased by 540% (p≤0.001) and 166.7% in the G3 and G4 groups, respectively as compared to the G2 group. The secondary HA titre was also increased significantly (p≤0.05) by 193% in the Biofield Energy Treated group per se at day -15 (G6), as compared to the G2 group. The paw volume data showed an alteration in the G3 and G6 groups as compared to the G2 group. The platelet count was significantly increased by 11.16% and 8.69% in the G3 and G4 groups, respectively as compared to the G2 group. The magnesium level was increased by 9.31% in the G3 group as compared to the G2 group. The uric acid was significantly reduced by 23.88% in the G3 group; while it was increased by 17.47% in the G4 group as compared to the G2 group. Since, the relative organ weight and histopathological findings did not produce any signs of toxicity as compared to the normal control group (G1). These data suggested that the Biofield Energy Treated herbomineral formulation was found to be safe and showed better immunomodulatory response as compared to the untreated formulation. Thus, it is assumed that the Biofield Energy Treated herbomineral formulation could be better and more useful to boost-up the immune system in healthy human and patients.

Abstract: The utilization and demand of self-medication with herbomineral-based formulations have increased day-by-day across the globe over the last decade. A new proprietary herbomineral formulation was prepared with the mixture of minerals (zinc, magnesium, and selenium) and the herbal root extract of ashwagandha. The current study was undertaken to evaluate the Biofield Energy Healing (The Trivedi Effect) on the test herbomineral formulation using murine dendritic cells (DCs) and splenocytes in vitro. The formulation was divided into two parts, one part was control without any Biofield Energy Treatment, while the other part was defined as the Biofield Energy Treated sample, which received the Biofield Energy Healing Treatment remotely from eighteen renowned Biofield Energy Healers. The effect of the Biofield Energy Treated formulation in murine cells was monitored with an estimation of pro-inflammatory cytokines levels such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP-1α) and interleukin (IL-1β) in cell culture supernatants along with estimations of non-cytotoxic concentrations of the test formulation by MTT assay. The Biofield Treated formulation showed 114.2%, 122.6%, 141.2%, 127.8%, and 114.1% cell viability at concentrations 1.05, 5.2, 10.5, 25.6, and 51.2 μg/mL, respectively in DCs. Similarly, the Biofield Energy Treated and untreated formulations showed more than 100% cell viability in mice splenocytes at 5 μg/mL. The level of TNF-α in DCs was significantly (p≤0.05) inhibited by 19.21% in the Biofield Treated formulation at concentration 5.2 μg/mL as compared to the untreated test formulation. The level of MIP-1α in LPS induced mice splenocyte cells was reduced by 15.35% in the Biofield Energy Treated formulation at 0.0105 μg/mL as compared to the untreated formulation. Similarly, the level of IL-1β in LPS induced mice splenocyte cells was significantly (p≤0.05) reduced by 31.59% in the Biofield Treated formulation at 1.05 μg/mL as compared to the untreated formulation. Altogether, the results suggest that The Trivedi Effect (Biofield Energy Healing Treatment) showed significant down-regulation of the tested pro-inflammatory cytokines expression and potentiated the immunosuppressive effect of the treated formulation to modulate the immune system. These data also suggest that the Biofield Treated test formulation can be used for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, stress management and anti-aging by improving overall health.
Common Radial Velocity vs. Rare Microlensing: Difficulties and Futures
Karan Molaverdikhani

Abstract: In this paper, effective factors for success of Microlensing and Radial Velocity methods were choose. A semi-Delphi process applied on the factors to evaluating them and finding the most important factors for present situation of ML and RV, with help from about 100 experts, in or related exoplanets detection. I found the public definition on "success of exoplanets detection methods" is not correct and we should change it, as some experts did it, in the form of fundamental questions in planetary science. Also, the views of "Special Experts" are different from other experts that help us to choose the right way in evaluating. The next step was choosing the best strategy for future and finally, from SWOT landscape and with a new objective of ML method (New Game Board Strategy) I suggested four critical future strategies for completing current strategic directions.
A Dance With Mrs Chan

Abstract: As a third-year medical student on an internal medical clerkship, I learned the most important lesson about how to care for patients. I saw my attending physician give attention first to the person he was treating, and then to the patient and her clinical picture. They are not the same, and our training in medical school does not always teach us this distinction. Months later I found myself with an opportunity to truly help another individual who had been clinically and emotionally overcome by his disease. My attending physician’s lesson guided me in a very meaningful way: it allowed me to remind a man that he was more than the disease he was fighting. Many times, it may be something very little that we need to do or say but to our patients, these little things end up being the biggest of them all
Suppl 1: M5: Promoting Access Through Integrated Mental Health Care Education

- , 2016, DOI: 10.2174/187443460160101073
Abstract: Mental disorders are the leading cause of non-communicable disability worldwide. Insufficient numbers of psychiatrically trained providers and geographic inequities impair access. To close this treatment gap, the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for the integration of mental health services with primary care. A new innovative online program is presented that increases access to mental health education for primary care nurse practitioners in designated mental health professional shortage areas. To create successful and sustainable change, an overlapping three-phase strategy is being implemented. Phase I is recruiting and educating primary care nurse practitioners to become competent and certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. Phase II is developing partnerships with state and local agencies to identify and support the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner education and clinical training. Phase III is sustaining integrated mental health care services through the development of nurse leaders who will participate in interdisciplinary coalitions and educate future students

THE RUGOVSKA CHARTER — EXAMPLE OF SELF-MANAGEMENT CONTROL OF VENDETTA IN A KOSOVO VILLAGE
Karan, Milenko
- , 1974,
Abstract: Sa?etak This work reviews the wide use and nature of vendetta in Kosovo The author gives particular attention to possibilities for controlling the blood-feud in modern day. According to tradition, the quarrelling parties were reconciliated by the so-called ple?nija (Council of wise Men), whereas in more recent times the state government undertook this task. This articles however discusses the character of the peace councils which, within the frame of the Socialist Federation, work to prevent blood-feuds. As example of a document which helps prevent blood-feuds in a controlled manner is the Rugovska Charter. All inhabitants of the mentioned area in Kosovo have accepted the charter, promising they will not take revenge among themselves in the future. The results achieved from this charter have surpassed all optimistic expectations. After its adoption, not one murder as a result of vendetta took place in this area. The peace council, using this charter as its basis, gained recognition in controlling vendetta. The author emphasizes the advantage of using such prevention methods, which are based on traditional law, yet adopted to the modern selFmanagcment system principles
